THE ALVIATOR'S VERDICT
Moxy won't be everyone's cup of tea (and I've docked a star for a basic room and subpar breakfast)a, though I really liked this hotel full of gorgeous and work-friendly public spaces |

In 2025 I had a one-night stay in Paris, where I was planning on heading to the Paris Air Show the next morning. I decided to stay at the Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle. This was partially because Moxy was running on the cheaper end for the evening that I was staying in Paris, but also because I was genuinely intrigued by the Moxy brand, and wanted to seek it out for this stay.
Well, the Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle impressed across a number of ways, and I think the Moxy brand resonates with me personally. My only gripe is that the Moxy isn’t really next to the airport, but rather you have to take the CDGVAL shuttle to get to the hotel (or do a 10-minute walk from Terminal 3 after being dropped off there, like I did).
Booking the Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport
I booked the Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport via Avios Hotels. Typically I can earn 10 points per £1 spent, though Avios Hotels was running a promotion at my time of booking where I could earn 15 points per £1 spent. Rates were running very similarly both on the hotel’s own booking portal as well as the Avios Hotels booking portal, and my stay cost £120 for my one night (which meant that I earned 1,800 Avios).
Moxy Hotels are part of the Marriott Bonvoy collection, so booking direct would’ve gotten me 1,610 Bonvoy points (as £120 is approximately US$161). This converts to roughly 535 Avios, so even without the promotion using Avios Hotels would’ve been the better deal for me.
Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Location and Entrance
The Moxy at CDG is located by the airport’s Roissypôle Ouest complex, next to the Mercure, Holiday Inn, and Four Points by Sheraton. It’s quite easy to find the Moxy, as it’s located by the far end of the complex.

If you’re arriving at night, you’ll find Moxy’s signature purple neon lighting, as well as some fairly lights by the terrace outside.

Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Check-In
One of the elements of the Moxy concept is that you check in by the bar. This frees you up to get a welcome drink while you’re at the bar. This is quite a relaxing prospect, though obviously I imagine I’d be a bit annoyed if the bar was crowded and there was a line to check in.
I arrived at around 1:30 AM in the morning, and while the bar was closed, there were a couple of associates by the bar. I let them know I was checking in, and was charged the Paris city tax of €5.20 (£4.5/HK$47), as well as being assigned a room. The whole check-in process was painless and took a matter of minutes.

The lift had some cute instant camera photos of people who had stayed at the Moxy in the past.

My room was located on the third floor, so I headed down the hallways to locate room 339.

Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Queen Sleeper Room
Moxy’s philosophy is to keep the rooms as bare-bones as possible, and invest more in the public spaces to create a more social environment. While Moxy has various different types of rooms, they undoubtedly are designed to accommodate groups of different sizes, as opposed to different levels of luxury.
My Queen Sleeper Room was definitely on the bare-bones side – it featured a bed, a TV, a little glass table of sorts with a stool, a lounging chair, and a glass bedside table.

You’ll find an open wardrobe, though no ironing board – Moxy’s ironing boards are situated in communal rooms. There’s also some funky wallpaper within the rooms.

As far as the table goes, if you work well in your hotel room and terribly in public spaces, don’t book a Moxy on a business trip – I wouldn’t go as far as to call this a work setup, though you can probably do some very light email checking here. There was also an empty mini-fridge, as well as a rotary dial phone, where you could phone reception if needed.

Power ports were well-placed at the room – they were next to the table and bedside. I’d appreciate universal power ports at an airport hotel, though can let it slide for an otherwise budget property. There was USB-A charging, though not USB-C ports.

The room did feature a rather chic night light feature, which I appreciated.

The bathroom was similarly very bare-bones, being quite small and just featuring a sink and a walk-in shower. I’ll give the shower props for having good water pressure, though found the Muk toiletry bottles to have very hard-to-use pumps.

Unfortunately there were no good tarmac or runway views from my room – it simply faced outward towards the surrounding Roissypôle area.

Overall, Moxy’s rooms are as simplistic as rooms get. This wouldn’t have bothered me too much, however, even if I was staying for more than a night. I tend to work terribly in bedroom spaces and quite well in public areas, and my room is very much just a space for me to rest, or read a book (or a flight review) in bed. Moxy’s setup would’ve suited me very well for this on a longer stay, though you’ll be really frustrated if you’re looking for peace and quiet within your room.
Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Public Spaces
This is my favourite part of the Moxy brand – the public spaces are gorgeous, and I find them to be extremely functional, whether you’re there for a coffee, a drink, or trying to get some work done.
Back by the check-in area, you’ll find a table football table and some communal seating, as well as some bar seating with power ports.

Then further into the lobby you’ll find a mock fuselage with some bench seating, as well as a mixture of table seating and some more comfortable padded seating.

On the other side of the check-in desk was some seating for relaxing, which I’d see being a good place to socialise over a drink. here there was a large sofa and faux fireplace, armchairs, a tent and slide for younger ones, etc.

Then there was a great workspace, with some bar seating and some massive tables. While there weren’t any chairs with good back support at the tables, the tables themselves were a work setup I’d far prefer to a small table in my room. I generally prefer working in an open space, and there was good privacy between tables as well.

Then there was a well-kept outside area as well with some benches.

All of these areas are areas where you can take your breakfast in the morning, or a drink or meal from the bar in the evening.
I’m a big fan of this huge, custom-design shared communal space, and hope to see more of this at many hotels. I’m totally fine having a smaller room if I can take my laptop down to do some work, or have a drink with a friend in a communal space in the evening.
Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Gym
The Moxy Paris CDG has a gym. It’s tiny, though does feature a couple of machines and some weights.

Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Breakfast
Now here’s the slightly disappointing bit of the Moxy, at least when I stayed. My rate at the Moxy advertised free breakfast (this is the cheapest rate at the hotel), so I went down at around 7:45 AM to take part in the breakfast spread. The spread itself was very limited, though I was more disappointed by the fact that there was zero effort made to refill any of the hot options, meaning that we were really only limited to cereal, salad and toast unless we came really early in the morning.

One of the coffee machines was also out of coffee (fortunately the other one was functioning, and the coffee wasn’t bad).

So while it’s nice that I didn’t have to pay extra for the breakfast spread, don’t expect this to be a major value-add perk.
Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Dining Options
Outside of breakfast, you can also get a meal for reasonable prices from the bar. I wasn’t at the hotel long enough to indulge, though did snap a picture of the menu.

Conclusion: Moxy Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport
I was quite happy with my stay at the Moxy Paris CDG, and totally didn’t mind the room tradeoff for a gorgeous and well-designed shared common space. I like the concept that there’s a shared space at Moxy hotels to work, catch a drink, or grab a meal. The only complaint I had was the dismal breakfast spread, though my experience of included breakfast spreads at limited-service properties is limited.
This won’t always be my first choice (especially if I’m on a business trip), though I’m a fan of the Moxy concept. I can’t imagine a better place to have such a concept than at an airport hotel during a layover, and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if laying over at CDG myself.
Looks different (and better) than their dormitory style accommodations in the States.
