In February 2024 I had the chance to stay at the Blique by Nobis, a Marriott Design Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden. This was my first time staying at a Marriott Design Hotel, a brand that Marriott took over in 2020. I simply needed a place to stay in Stockholm, and the rates offered by this hotel were very attractive, hence I booked.
I only had a short night here, though I’ll be talking about my experience staying at this hotel, including my room, facilities, breakfast, and more.
How I Booked the Blique by Nobis Hotel Stockholm
I paid for this stay with cash, and specifically, paid for a Sleep Deeper guest room (which is their entry level guest room, and doesn’t feature windows). This cost me 1,190 SEK (£88/HK$873). I credited points to Marriott Bonvoy, earning 1,016 base points for my stay.
Blique by Nobis Hotel Stockholm Location and Entrance
The Blique by Nobis Hotel is located very close to Stockholm Odenplan station, minutes’ walk away between Hagastaden and Vasastaden. The hotel itself is located in what used to be a Philips warehouse, and the exterior is rather unassuming, simply featuring a driveway and some neon signage.

Once heading into the driveway, you’ll spot an outdoor “inner courtyard”, which can be booked out for events if needed. At the time I arrived the courtyard was very dark and snowy, so I went all the way to the far end and turned right into reception, where I had to knock for someone to let me in.

Once I was let into the lobby, I was greeted by warm earthy tones and lots of seating. I was also checked in by a very friendly agent, who welcomed me after my flight and upgraded me to a Superior Room.

My room was located in the building adjacent to the main building, where the Arc rooftop was located (the building was denoted with ARC signage). This took a while to find, though fortunately I did end up finding my room. Despite the charming nature of the hotel, it isn’t small – there are a couple of “wings” in the hotel, spanning 249 rooms.

I had been upgraded to a Superior Room, which featured two single beds pushed together, a chaise longue, a large entryway with a storage area, and a flatscreen TV. The room itself was very, very stylishly appointed – I loved the subtle hues, and felt that the room had plenty of space. Keep in mind that I’d originally booked a Sleep Tight room, which doesn’t feature windows (but otherwise is fairly similar) – a few of the hotel’s rooms don’t feature windows, which is noteworthy, though the hotel makes this fairly clear on their website.
Despite the fact that the beds were two single beds pushed together, I found them to be surprisingly comfortable. The one inconvenience I found was that the one power port (non-universal) and the bedside table were on opposite sides of the bed.

I loved the room’s fairly minimalistic touches, including a quirky piece of artwork by the side (this isn’t a coat hanger since you can’t actually put your coat through those massive baubles, though there is a separate coat hanger on the side).

I also liked some of the room’s cute and quirky elements, such as this lamp by the side (unfortunately the light switch wasn’t connected to the master switch, so I had to turn this lamp off separately).

The bathroom extended these earthy tones, and featured a walk-in shower. I particularly liked the heated floor and mirror, especially in this weather, and found the water pressure in the walk-in shower to be outstanding. The Byredo toiletries were also great, despite me not having heard of them before.

As my room was on the ninth floor, I had a pretty view over the snow-capped houses of Stockholm.

Overall, I felt that the room was very well-appointed, and loved the design – I found it quirky, minimalistic, yet practical, and loved the space afforded in the room. The one small caveat was the lack of access to power ports – I wish that a couple more were available.
The one thing to note is that the hotel’s entry-level rooms don’t have windows, so keep that in mind when booking.

While I failed to do a speed test during my stay at the hotel, WiFi at the hotel was free, fast, and easy to connect to in all locations.

Breakfast was served at the hotel’s restaurant Boketto, and came with my room rate. Despite the fact that I didn’t see many people around the hotel, breakfast was quite crowded; however I had no issues trying to find a seat. In fact, there were tables on the seats suggesting that they were “occupied”, so I could go and get food from the breakfast spread without worrying about someone taking my seat.

The breakfast spread was very extensive, and I particularly enjoyed that everything was fresh. Highlights included a frittata made on-site, as well as Swedish pannkakor (pancakes) with jam and whipped cream.

There even was ramen, but this was a slightly looser interpretation, with vermicelli, firm tofu and a soy-based broth.

Overall this was yet another impressive element of my stay.

I didn’t have long at the Blique by Nobis HOtel Stockholm, though briefly checked out some of the hotel’s facilities. At no point was the ARC rooftop bar open during my stay, though I briefly had a peek through the glass doors – it seemed like it would be a nice place with great views over the summer season.

Lastly there’s a gym. The gym is open 24/7, which is great, though I didn’t get to visit due to my short stay – here’s a photo I’ve nicked from the hotel’s website.

Conclusion: Blique by Nobis Hotel Stockholm
The Blique by Nobis hotel is such a charming hotel, and features well-appointed rooms with comfortable, good WiFi and a 24/7 gym, and a great breakfast spread. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat – just be aware that some of the hotel’s cheapest rooms lack windows.
