Upon being showed one of the rooms, we were immediately sold. For ~HK$600 more per night, this was so worth it (if I had HK$1,800 at hand, I’d use it, especially compared to the old suite – unfortunately, I don’t).
Much like the superior residence, this suite was featured in the “residences” wing, which meant what was probably the older wing of the hotel (the wings are atop each other, if you’ve stayed and you’re wondering, they’re not separate buildings or anything).

Our room was a corner suite by the side, 3006 on the 30th floor.

The room featured a whole “entry corridor” which lead to the rooms, with the living room by the end.

The living room was much bigger and seemed much more spacious, and thus seemed much more comfortable than the superior suite. It featured a flatscreen TV, a desk pointing away from the TV, and an L-shaped sofa, as well as a communal table and a “bar” in front of the kitchenette.

While the touches weren’t very modern, like the previous suite, they were definitely very classy.

The views from the living room also featured the Yodo River, but was at a corner this time. The other part was partially obstructed by the Grand Front – fine by us.

Adjacent to the living room was a kitchenette of similar size to the old one, with a sink, an oven, a fridge with a minibar and similar items.

There were two bedrooms, a master bedroom by the side and a guest bedroom (with a shower ensuite, but a toilet outside) between the living room and the master bedroom. The guest bedroom featured two beds, a desk and a flatscreen TV.

The ensuite shower was equipped with a full massage function, so no complaints at all there.

It was also equipped with Agraria full sized bottles, as was the master bathroom (which I’ll get to later).

Meanwhile, the guest bathroom featured a toilet and a small single sink.

The master bedroom featured a desk, a mirror (again), a flatscreen TV and a double bed. All beds were really comfortable – not Westin Heavenly quality, but definitely good enough for some quality sleep.

Meanwhile, the master bathroom was more of a highlight, if not as impressive as the one in the superior residence (minor point given exactly how much more spacious the living room felt). It featured a sink, a toilet and an impressive separate walk in shower/tub.

Overall, though there were a few hiccups to this suite too (it wasn’t perfect, like the deluxe room), my dad and I found it very well appointed and well worth the price.
Moving back to the hotel, doesn’t the lobby look pretty at night?

During our stay at the suite, the hotel hung English newspapers by our door every morning, bowing at us when we caught them in the act. Sure, the room has hiccups, but the service definitely doesn’t.

They also put by local candies of different flavours every night during turndown service, much like they did in the entry level room.

During the latter half of the stay while I was here, I visited the spa one night, and worked out for a while at the gym. Both were well appointed, even though I didn’t actually access the spa.

The gym featured colourful equipment, including fitness balls, machines and treadmills. They weren’t mismatched, either – the colours all seemed to all fit together.

Bottom Line
No matter where you’re staying, the InterContinental Osaka is a top choice for all travellers. While I would avoid the Two Bedroom Superior Residence given the small cut-out rooms, both the deluxe residence and the entry level room were incredibly well appointed and designed. That said, from now on I’d stick to the entry level room whenever possible (it wasn’t this time, as you can only book the entry level room for four people when including the room in a Cathay Pacific package), as it’s large and seems to be better appointed, for some reason.
I would return in a heartbeat.
