Over New Year’s into 2026, my family and I stayed at The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam, a 34-villa property (despite its namesake) located in the Quảng Nam province just off the edge of Da Nang city. The hotel sits around a 20-minute taxi ride from Danang and Hội An city, so is equidistant from these two tourist sites. Danang is well known for its beaches and scenery, and Hội An is well-known for its UNESCO-listed ancient town, so being a stone’s (or Grab’s) throw away from both is a huge asset to the hotel.
So how was our stay? We hugely enjoyed this resort, even though they were running a discount due to ongoing construction nearby (which we didn’t hear much from). I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel as a base to explore the city.
Booking The Five Villas & Resort, Quangnam
I booked our family a Garden View Four-Bedroom Pool Villa at this resort via Avios Hotels, where I’d receive 10 points per £1 spent (they’re actually running 15 points/£1 spent for a limited time until the end of this month). Avios Hotels was able to recognise the discount that the hotel was running, so this villa cost £430/night (HK$4,585) including taxes, fees, breakfast, and a complimentary transfer to and from the airport. This meant that I received 17,200 Avios from this hotel stay.
This was a 66% discount from the original price, which would’ve been £1,290/night for this villa.
The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Location
As mentioned in the introduction, the property’s location is that it’s equidistant from Da Nang and Hội An, which I really enjoyed. This meant that on our five-day stay, we could very easily take inexpensive Grab rides to either place, which would take around 15-20 minutes.

The hotel sits between the Shilla Monogram, and the upcoming The Residences at Arbora, a Luxury Collection hotel. The Luxury Collection hotel is still being built, so the Five Villas is running discounts to assuage the noise nearby. Despite being one of the villas closer to the action, we weren’t disturbed by the noise at any point during our stay (though could see the construction going on quite clearly).

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Garden View Airport Transfer
Booking a rate at the Five Villas & Resort Quangnam comes with a complimentary airport transfer. Arranging the airport transfer was easy, and the hotel was responsive via email.
On the day, the driver was happy to assist with our bags, and the transfer to the hotel was very easy (albeit in a Crowne Plaza-branded van). The transfer took just over half an hour, exactly as long as Google Maps said to expect it.
The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Exterior and Grounds
The Five Villas & Resort is a smaller property compared to any of the hotels in the vicinity, and consists entirely of villas. This means that the actual building reception is quite small, and just houses two restaurants – the main restaurant where breakfast is served, and Phở Thìn, the hotel’s pho restaurant. I didn’t get a photo of the exterior of this building during our stay, though here’s a photo from the hotel.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Exterior
Once we arrived at the villa, we were brought straight to our room for an in-room check-in. Our room was located right behind the main block, so it was a very quick walk to breakfast and if there was any need to head to the lobby.
The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Garden View Four-Bedroom Pool Villa
Our four-bedroom pool villa at the Five Villas & Resort Quangnam was numbered room B2, and was quite close to the main entrance – it was possible for Grab rides to drop us off right outside our room. Here’s what the exterior of the room looks like – as you can see, there’s a pool that’s situated right outside the room.

I helped with our in-room check-in process, and we were asked to pay a room deposit (I didn’t note down the exact amount, though it was among the realm of £100-150), which would be refunded after our stay.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Welcome Drink
The villa was gorgeous. On the ground floor was an expansive living room, featuring a sofa, a large dining table, and lots of space. Apologies for not having the best pictures of this space – I sent my family to help me get a few photos while I sorted online check-in, and none of us clocked to photograph the living room properly after I was done.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Living Room
I think this photo best shows what the living room looked like – as you can see, it was massive.

The living room also featured an open-plan kitchen, complete with a job, a sink, an oven, and a fridge. We didn’t cook (there was too much good food to enjoy in Vietnam), though I found this to be a well-equipped space.

Then there was a minibar, complete with a separate fridge – once again not an amenity that we made use of during this stay, due to the great food on offer in the vicinity.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Minibar
There was a half-bathroom on the ground floor as well.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Bathroom
There was a spiral staircase that connected the living room to each of the four bedrooms.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Staircase
Each of the floors featured two larger bedrooms, and two smaller bedrooms. The larger bedrooms were huge, and featured a bed, chairs facing the balcony, and a desk.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Larger Rooms
These rooms had massive bathrooms, featuring a seating area, double sinks, a tub, a walk-in shower, and a toilet.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Bathroom
The bathrooms were laid out slightly differently. The lower bathroom featured a seating area and the sinks were located by the end of the bathroom, just in front of the bathtub. Meanwhile, the sinks were located nearer to the room in the upper bathroom (with no seating area), and the tub was more exposed.

Then on the other side was a toilet and walk-in shower.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Bathroom and Shower
The two smaller rooms featured a bed and balcony, without the extra desk area. The bathrooms were smaller and didn’t feature bathtubs, but still featured a sink and walk-in shower.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Smaller Rooms and Shower
All rooms featured toiletries from Grown Alchemist, which were really nice.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Toiletries
In case you’re wondering what our view was, our villa was one of the furthest from the beach and closest to the road, so our villa just faced the other villas on the property.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam View (or lack thereof)
WiFi was very strong on the ground floor, but less so in the rooms, especially on the top floor. This isn’t a big deal for a holiday villa, though I would obviously have preferred the signal to be better extended.
This is obviously an awesome room for the rate that we were paying, and we loved having the space to ourselves over our four-night stay.
The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Four-Bedroom Villa Pool
Our four-bedroom villa featured a pool. This isn’t a pool with a view – in fact, I wasn’t a fan of the fact that it faced the entrance side of the villa, and would’ve preferred for it to be out back. It was also December, so we didn’t use the pool throughout our stay. However, the pool itself was well-maintained.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Resort and Grounds
In terms of the Five Villas & Resort’s other facilities, the lobby was located right next to our villa, and featured a nice seating area. While the staff are happy to help with any requests, realistically we only needed to use the lobby area during check-out.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Lobby
If you’re staying in one of the smaller villas, there are nice resort-style pathways weaving between these villas. I also saw some golf carts going round, so presumably these are able to shuttle you from place to place within the hotel.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Hotel Grounds
Lastly, there’s a beach in the vicinity of the hotel. This isn’t a great beach – a far cry from the My Khe beach just 20 minutes away. However, if you’re just looking for a place to read a book in the morning, this area will suffice.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Beach
While I’m on the topic of hotel grounds, our family weren’t disturbed by the construction nearby, despite being in one of the rooms closer to the action. I mean, of course having a big construction zone next to your villa is a little bit unsightly, and we also occasionally heard some faint noise when walking along the hotel grounds. However, that certainly isn’t audible at night, and also barely noticeable if you’re in your hotel room during the day.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Breakfast
Breakfast was served at the hotel’s restaurant, titled Five Dining. This restaurant was next to the lobby, had floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the surrounding area (by the road, not the beach), and decorated in quite a modern fashion.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam “Five Dining” Restaurant
The hotel buffet was very extensive, though I wouldn’t say it was delicious or extremely high-quality. Cold options included fresh fruit and other continental options such as yoghurt and granola.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Breakfast Spread
Additionally, there were also some Korean rice rolls (gimbap). Danang hugely caters to Korean tourists, and I’m not actually sure whether these rice rolls are actual Korean gimbap, or whether Vietnam cultivated their own version from the high level of Korean influence.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Breakfast Spread
Western hot options included sausages, chicken in mushroom sauce, corn, etc. as well as hash browns, tomatoes, bacon, and some barbecue ribs.

Asian hot options included beef in caramel sauce, stewed herbal duck, etc.

There was an egg station, and there was also a noodle bar, serving pho, mì quảng, and cao lầu, both Central Vietnamese specialties. I had some cao lầu, though didn’t find it to be especially tasty, especially compared to some of the other dishes we had outside of the hotel.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Breakfast Spread and Noodle Bar
Perhaps my favourite part of the spread was the drinks selection, which included delicious Vietnamese coffee. You can also get machine coffee, though there’s no barista coffee (which didn’t generally seem to be popular in Vietnam). There was also some juice available.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Breakfast Spread
Once again, while the breakfast spread was very extensive, I don’t remember having anything from the spread that I found particularly tasty. While I would’ve been thrilled to see this spread at a Vietnamese airline lounge, I think I would’ve expected a higher calibre of food from a good-quality hotel – for example, more flavourful noodle broth, or tastier meats.
The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam In-Villa Barbecue
The Five Villas and Resort offers an in-villa barbecue service. This can be booked at least one day in advance, and costs 2,500,000 VND (£70/HK$752) per person. We couldn’t justify taking advantage of this with so much food available in town, so we didn’t try it out.
The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Phở Thìn
The Five Villas & Resort has its own pho restaurant, Phở Thìn. This is located on the ground floor of the hotel under reception. We had this on the first afternoon of our stay, once we arrived in town. The restaurant is open from 6:30 AM until 10 PM.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Phở Thìn Restaurant
The restaurant offers many Vietnamese options, though they have two types of signature pho – classic, and stir fried. Upon searching it up at the time of writing, I probably should’ve tried the stir fried pho, as it also looks delicious. However, at the time, we all went for a classic pho set, which came with some fried dough sticks and an egg side dish.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Fitness Facilities and Spa
The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam doesn’t have its own fitness facilities or spa – instead, guests are invited to use the facilities of the neighbouring Shilla Monogram Danang. In fact, there’s even a special entrance to the Shilla Monogram grounds from the Five Villas. Sadly I had a mild stomach bug during my stay, so I didn’t use either of these facilities.

The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam Service
The Five Villas & Resort had warm and friendly service, and I particularly appreciated the ability to communicate with the concierge over WhatsApp during the course of my stay. They were able to make reservations for us, provide recommendations, and arrange our transfer back to the airport, as well as accommodate any other requests.
However, I don’t feel that the hotel culture is to provide an all-inclusive, above-and-beyond experience for guests. For example, at a top-tier hotel, I shouldn’t have to pay for coffee at the hotel reception. I also felt that the hotel could’ve gone further to give us recommendations of local food options when we asked.
Conclusion: The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam
The Five Villas & Resort Quangnam was a beautiful property, and I’m glad I had the chance to stay here, especially on the discount we were given. We hugely enjoyed having the luxury of space in our four-bedroom pool villa, and being 20 minutes away from Danang and Hội An. I’d recommend this property in a heartbeat.
