Hong Kong-based Plaza Premium is opening a second First Class lounge at the airport, complementing its existing Plaza Premium First lounge and their three other lounges at the airport. I believe this makes Hong Kong Airport the first airport with two Plaza Premium First lounges?
Plaza Premium Opens Second First Class Lounge at Hong Kong Airport
Plaza Premium has opened a second First Class lounge at Hong Kong Airport. This lounge is located by gate 35, near one of the current “normal” Plaza Premium lounges (I haven’t actually reviewed that one, but plan to soon).
The lounge itself has similar decor to the existing Plaza Premium First lounge, though would have much more natural light due to its location. Here are some photos that Plaza Premium sent over:

This lounge complements their existing Plaza Premium First lounge at the airport. Finnair and Qatar Airways send their business class passengers here, and I suspect that they’ll be sent to one of these two lounges.
The lounge will feature an a-la-carte menu selection. The all-day menu will start at 11 AM, and choices include Vietnamese duck pho, Thai style sautéed spicy chicken rice with fried egg, fish ball noodle with XO sauce and crispy fish skin, and more. A breakfast menu will include scrambled egg and satay beef in bun, English breakfast, Cantonese congee with dumplings and rice rolls, etc.

Other facilities include:
- Bathrooms and one shower suite
- Neck and shoulder massages provided by REFRESHH by Aerotel (it’s not clear whether these are included, or cost extra)
This is great, and could represent a good deal if you already have Plaza Premium lounge access
Plaza Premium’s First lounges typically cost a premium to enter, even for those who already routinely have access to Priority Pass lounges.
- It costs HK$979.80 (£93) to buy access outright to this lounge
- You can upgrade to this lounge from HK$150 (£14.25) if you already have access to a Plaza Premium lounge, as per the Asia Miles website
While it’s a good deal to upgrade to Plaza Premium First, I’m not sure how many people will do this in practice? Either way, these are a substantial improvement over “standard” Plaza Premium lounges. If you already have access to a Plaza Premium lounge via your AmEx Platinum card or through Priority Pass, it could be worth exploring this upgrade.
I’m surprised that there’s enough usage at Hong Kong Airport to warrant a second Plaza Premium First lounge, though obviously extra lounge capacity is good news for passengers.
Conclusion
Hong Kong Airport is getting a second Plaza Premium First lounge, and it looks lovely. This could attract contract deals from airlines sending their business class passengers there, and furthermore, could represent a good upgrade deal for those who already have access to Plaza Premium lounges. You probably shouldn’t buy lounge access outright here, though.
