One of my destinations at Bangkok Airport was checking out the Singapore Airlines SilverKris lounge, as I knew that it had been recently renovated. This was a short walk through the terminal, where I eventually found signage towards the Singapore Airlines SilverKris lounge.
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport Terminal
The Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge is located near gate D7, in Concourse D of the airport. The exterior of the lounge is in line with most of Singapore Airlines’ renovated lounges, including the one at Hong Kong Airport.

I was quickly admitted by a friendly lounge attendant, and made my way into the lounge.
The lounge was essentially one big room, and was empty for the most part. It featured comfortable, earthy tones, with pops of red and yellow.

The bar acted as the centerpiece of the lounge, and was staffed by a couple of bartenders. Surrounding the bar was a large selection of seating, and I loved the “partitions” that added a sense of privacy while still keeping the lounge’s spaciousness.

There was a huge selection of seating to choose from, including high-backed chairs, as well as “square” armchairs of different colours, pictured below.

In addition to that, there were also a few “pods”, which were private enough to provide a decent, comfortable workspace. They were well-padded, and I loved the splash of colour that the red pillow provided.

By the side of the lounge was more “old-fashioned” seating, including a rather rectangular-looking sofa and a few rounded armchairs, which almost seemed out of place for such a modern lounge.

Near the back of the lounge was some communal restaurant-style seating.

There was a large meeting table that was capable of holding parties of 12+ people, which I’m sure larger parties traveling together would appreciate.

There was also a selection of bar seating facing the terminal.

Overall I thought the lounge was very well-designed, and certainly featured a wide selection of seating options. It’s always nice when there are different types of seating to cater to different needs, including bar seating, working pods, lounging chairs, etc.. WiFi at the lounge was also fast, which helped.
I spent most of my time at the bar. While the bartender wasn’t actively mean, he was rather cold, and seemed rather exhausted.

The menu by the bar read as follows:

There was also an “Island Vibes” special menu. I suspect that the lounge tried to pay homage to the “tropical” fruits you’d find on the streets of Bangkok and near the beach in high-end Thai resorts. I’m not too sure if the selection was entirely appropriate, but I appreciated the effort.

I decided to go for a Kris Lime drink. While it wasn’t the best mocktail I’ve ever had, it was presented beautifully, and was nice and refreshing. It’s worth noting that I tipped the bartender after my drink. Thailand is generally a country where people are underpaid, and people don’t typically tip lounge staff as they technically serve as part of the airline, where people often believe too much money goes towards. The man preparing my drink seemed overworked, so tipping seemed appropriate in my case.

The bar also hosted a muted TV. Normally I wouldn’t take much notice, though this lounge was where I first learned about the Las Vegas shooting. While I was shocked by the news, at the time only two people were confirmed dead, so it wasn’t until we landed back in Hong Kong that I would learn that this was the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
Aside from the bar, there was also a food spread. There was a selection of hot and cold options. I didn’t look too much into the food options since I’d just had lunch earlier, though they looked pretty good.

I also appreciated the local Thai specialties that the lounge offered.

There was also a coffee machine, which I’m sure some people would really appreciate. I had already had my daily dose of caffeine, so didn’t need coffee during my stay.

The lounge doesn’t feature showers, though the bathroom is pretty nice.

The toiletries in the bathroom were from Siam Botanicals – very nice!

After my drink and a short bathroom visit, it was off towards the west end of Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport for a couple more lounge visits and a shower.
Bottom Line: Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge Bangkok
I really liked the decor of the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge Bangkok. While the lounge wasn’t very big, it was very well-appointed, and wasn’t crowded during my time there. It’s rather disappointing that I’d probably prefer Singapore Airlines’ lounge over some of Thai Airways’ lounges at Bangkok Airport, despite the lack of a shower.
If I wasn’t looking for a shower, I’d probably consider staying at the Singapore Airlines SilverKris lounge before my flight. I’ll come up with a comparison post comparing all Star Alliance lounge options at Bangkok Airport after I review the rest of the lounges I visited.

Great review! It’s my favorite *A lounge in Suvarnabhumi now. Trumps anything Thai has to offer!
