At The Alviator, we publish content reviewing the best airlines (especially in business and premium economy class), as well as tips and tricks on how to maximise your cash and miles spend out of the UK and Asia. The more I’ve been writing about the topic, the more I’ve realised it’s actually quite complicated for many – each EU/EEA/UK country has their own earning rates and credit card options, airfare and taxation is different out of every country, and there are a plethora of airline options. Low-cost airlines also rule the roost on this continent, which further muddies the waters in terms of what the best strategy is for each individual traveller.
That’s why I think it’s time to advertise some dedicated support. Alvia is a dedicated, live support solution to help frequent travellers and professionals in Europe and Asia maximise their points earnings. Do note that there was a trial iteration of Alvia, though this is now the upgraded solution (with a small fee).
What is Alvia?
Alvia is a live, 1-1 service for miles and points users to set up their earnings and find award space for their desired itineraries. I’m personally doing these 1-1 connections as a sole proprietor, and the hope is that I’d be able to get connected with some of you through doing so.
I’m offering three services (or packages) at the moment:
- A “Boarding” package, for people new to miles and points to set up their miles and points earnings (the Student package starts at £49)
- A “Takeoff” package, for people looking to book specific trips and would like me to help them book award space
- A “Cruising” package, a regular subscription for people looking for ongoing miles and points advice, and trip booking advice
The first two services start off at a one-time £49 (HK$508) fee, and the last service starts off at a recurring £49/mo. Booking links for introduction calls are live, and we can discuss next steps from there.
These services are available to people around the world, though do note that my knowledge base generally has a UK/Asia focus. All packages include a free 15-minute introduction call to see whether the service fits you, and a 30-minute call plus unlimited WhatsApp support as a deliverable for the service provided.
Why can you trust Alvia?
While there’s a huge amount of knowledge regarding airlines and miles and points out there, there’s an overwhelming amount of content advertising “free” trips with miles. That’s just not sustainable – there’s an opportunity cost when you earn miles, and you need a strategy if you want to fly in premium cabins on a regular basis.
I’ve helped redeem over a million miles (both for myself and for people I love), and I’ve also reviewed 150+ air travel products firsthand, so I’ve got credibility as to which are the best premium cabins (especially in business class and premium economy) to fly out there. I’ve also flown countless flights on low-cost airlines, and have a good idea of how miles are valued, which airline frequent flyer programmes are the most valuable, and how airport logistics works. I’d love to share that with you and help you with your bookings, and that’s why I created Alvia.
I’ve got a good idea of the aspirational products worth booking (i.e. not Lufthansa A340 business class)
Why isn’t Alvia an automated booking system?
There are numerous award booking and award space search engines out there – my favourite is point.me, which is powered by industry experts. Some of these even have a free trial. That’s an awesome solution if you’re just trying to find award space between your origin and destination on the best airline that will take you there.
However, with the prevalence of low-cost airlines in Europe and origin pricing logic, as well as taxes I’d like to minimise, there currently isn’t enough industry capacity specifically around maximising UK travel. My friends at Head for Points do an awesome job at providing UK-centric business traveller advice, and I’d highly recommend bookmarking their website, though they don’t provide bespoke support at the moment. I’d like to offer this support for people who are looking to book aspirational air travel in the UK, or want to set up a miles and points strategy in order to do so.
Great that I’m flying KLM premium economy, though not pictured is the Norwegian flight I took to Stockholm to drive down the price tag
I’m also not a software engineer, so I’d need a lot of help if I wanted to build a system that could factor in these considerations.
Please help me give Alvia a shot
Treat this as a “soft launch” – I’d love Alvia to get some traction, and am also looking for this to be a proper addition to my day-to-day work.
If you’re reading this, I’d love for you to get a 50% discount on your first use of Alvia (or 50% off your first month of Cruising) – just let me know that you’ve seen this on the post during our introduction call, and I’ll apply the discount there and then.
Thanks again for all of your ongoing readership and support, and I’m hoping to help you guys set up your miles and points or book a trip soon!
