After a pleasant visit at the EVA Air Lounge Bangkok, it was time to head closer towards the gate to head towards our gate at Concourse C. Concourse C also has a couple of Thai Airways lounges, so I quickly made my way over so I’d have ample time to check them out and still be able to board first.

While I knew there were two Royal Silk lounges, I wasn’t expecting them to be right across each other, which was interesting.

Thai Airways’ Concourse C East lounge seems to be rather capacity-focused (while there are still showers, more amenities seem to be featured at the lounge on the West side, at the expense of seating for 30). It was empty in this case, though, and I was checked into the lounge to find myself staring at 100+ empty seats.

Much like most of the other Thai Airways lounges, the lounge consisted of one long rectangular room, with lots of seating and virtually no privacy.

While the lounge wasn’t modern by any means, it did feature less dated seating than any of the other lounges I’d visited.

Once again, most of the seating featured circular tables in front of densely packed chairs. I don’t love circular tables – I find them clunky and annoying to work with – but they do the job.

To one side of the lounge was the food spread, which was identical to that of the other lounges, featuring some hot Thai and cold options.

In addition to that I liked how neatly the magazine spread was laid out, which I didn’t notice in the other lounges.

The lounge features a number of amenities. Near one end of the rectangular room there were working cubicles. I noticed a lounge attendant in one of the cubicles at the time, so I was sure to take a picture of one of the empty ones. They were fine for working, though there didn’t seem to be a substantial space for a laptop.

The rest of the amenities were featured in the same corner of the lounge in a nook by the entrance. At one end of the hallway was a telephone booth.

Further along the phone booth I found the showers, which were well stocked and of a good size, and featured Thann toiletries.

Bottom Line: Thai Airways Concourse C East Lounge
While Thai Airways has a lot of lounges, once again, not many of them hit the mark, in my opinion. This was another example of a lounge that was fine by all means, but nowhere near great, especially for a hub lounge.
The West lounge featured more amenities, but it still wasn’t that great…
