Some people just have a little too much free time on their hands.
This morning I went on Cathay Pacific’s website to see if the seats could be reserved for my flight to Kuala Lumpur in booking class “N”. Weirdly the panel said I’d “checked in”, and got me a second last row aisle seat.
I decided it would be fine, it was probably the school checking us in so we wouldn’t be wasting time…until I realised that all the passport numbers were wrong. Well, mine, at least – even some of the nationalities were incorrect, which I found really weird.
Weirdly, when I tried to cancel the check-in, it reappeared – not only that, but the “error” sign showed up the second time, which probably stops people from tampering with their (school) bookings too much.
I emailed my teachers, who said it wasn’t normal – first I assumed it was my travel agent behind all that, but apparently not…
On the plus side, the agent I hit up couldn’t have been more friendly, and said that she would get rid of all our checking-ins at the earliest convenience. Sure, that means I might get a middle seat, but that’s better than having friends not be able to get on the flight at all due to a screwed up booking system.
Who’s the culprit?
