Philippine Airlines is an airline that I’ve booked many times but never taken. I help book my friends’ flights to Philippines, from the Philippines, wherever it is. I’ve tried to switch them over to Cathay Pacific, but home is best for them.

Admittedly this is a few months ago, but Philippine Airlines rolled out their new Airbus A330-300HGW seat layout.
Business class consists of fully flat beds, which are arranged pretty smartly. The seats overlap each other, so you can jump off the bed on the aisle if you need the washroom mid-flight.

While it’s a product that I can stand more than happily, in my opinion, it’s fine, it’s safe, it’s not industry leading.
Then there’s premium economy. I realise that airlines need to maximise profits, but this is to a complete new level. Philippine Airlines is installing 3-3-3 in an Airbus A330 in premium economy.

Admittedly they do say it’s an economy plus seat with extra legroom and a little extra recline, but 3-3-3 is just depressing for an Airbus A330.
Then there’s economy, with a 31″ pitch.
