After waving off my friends to Singapore, I walked right past the entrance of The Wing, so I decided to give it a short visit, given how highly regarded it seemed. The Wing is located near gates 1-4, and has a long entrance.

Upon entrance I asked if I could access other lounges, in which the agent took my lounge invitation and gave me a re-entry stamp. Boy, I hate these one-at-a-time lounge invitation schemes.
The lounge is the biggest in the Cathay Pacific system by far, to the extent that it has two equally large levels for business class alone. The lower level featured Solus chairs, a few other chairs and a few lounge chairs overlooking the window – unfortunately it faced the road as opposed to the tarmac.

There was gallery seating, unfortunately there were too many people and the space was too small for photos of the seats.

The lounge featured Macs and PCs in an IT zone nook.

There was also a food spread on the lower level, which featured pastries, dimsum and a decent selection of food.

Showers were also on this level. I asked for pictures, which the lady accepted. She was nice about it, and found me one of the shower rooms that were set up the best.

The lower level was really crowded, which I wasn’t surprised by, given it’s the first lounge most travellers see past immigration.

The long bar seating faced the tarmac, thankfully, which featured decent views (the lounge is located on the other side of the immigration hall as the Qantas lounge).

There were pastries in tables next to the seats, which I found interesting.

Then I checked out the noodle bar and the coffee loft, which were both in nooks next to the main lounge.

The noodle bar was a bar for, well, noodles. There was also seating by the side.
It was decorated in some modern Asian-Japanese decorations, with bamboo trees and wooden seating.

The coffee loft was a little (equally crowded) loft area with a few pastries and a coffee machine, though I passed.

I decided the lounge was way too overcrowded for my needs, so I left the lounge after some pictures, hoping to visit the Bridge before my departure.
Bottom line on The Wing Business Class Lounge Hong Kong
The lounge is a big lounge with plenty of seating, which is good enough for a hub lounge. Mostly it was the overcrowding that was depressing for me, and the lounge was getting a little shabby, but the latter is mostly caused by the former, which is totally out of the airline’s control.
If there was something I could change, the lounge could be a little bigger as a hub lounge, but overall it was reasonable especially regarding my expectations.
