Happy 2015, where I’m home desperately trying to catch up on trip reports! I have to say that I had an amazing year this year on the travel front, with things looking on the bright side to come.
I went to New Zealand back in February and had a great time. I also had my longest flight ever on the outbound, which isn’t a long flight but isn’t a short one either.
In April I went to Singapore, where I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore, up there on the list of my favorite hotels.
My next big trip was in May when I headed to Kaohsiung and Tainan, two of the more inspirational cities towards my friendly nature. 😉
After that it was into August when I took off to Kyushu to probably one of the most rejuvenating trips of my life.
Our final trip was in October, when I finally tried out Cathay Pacific/Dragonair’s new economy class.
While all of my travel this year (with the exception of one flight, my Air New Zealand flight home from Auckland) inside the Cathay Pacific group, I’m definitely planning to do otherwise next year.
I’ve had an amazing year, and there’s a great one, I know, in front of me.

I’ve had a truly crazy year in travel. This is the year of many firsts for me, while my travels weren’t as frequent as Sergio’s with thirteen segments, it is in fact the most that I have flown within a year which is kind of weird given that I wouldn’t have even earned Cathay Pacific Marco Polo Silver with such a huge amount of flights! Here is a map of all of my travels this year.
Here is a quick recap of all of my trips:
I flew to Chiang Mai aboard Dragonair and experienced their tourist A320 cabin (which does not have Business) and stayed at the Anantara Resort which was absolutely amazing (I plan to return, stay tuned!).

Then I took part in a summer program with school and went to Kaohsiung for two weeks before flying up to Taipei, staying at my first W and flying Business for the first time in the year on the return after being upgraded. After that it was off to London on Cathay Pacific which was quite a nice experience before I flew to London, Milan and Rome. From Rome I got operationally upgraded to Business Class again which was a nice treat to end the trip with.

The flights didn’t stop there with another trip to Seoul in October, this time in Business Class using miles given that we had loads of them that were expiring in November. I stayed at the Plaza Seoul given that my mum had a cheap corporate rate for the club rooms that we took advantage off.

Then in December we used Asia Miles again for a trip to Nagoya in Japan where I flew on Cathay Pacific’s new business class and stayed at one of the best ryokans in Aichi which was certainly something that I cherished greatly. I also had the best flight of my life on that trip.

Okay… Maybe that wasn’t so short after all…

I’m hoping that 2015 is an equally great year for us!
